Perliminary Task

Our preliminary task was a sequence of shots to illustrate a character walking through a building to practice continuity and techniques necessary to complete our project such as sound bridges, the 180 degree rule; matched cuts and the rule of thirds.

We added music to the video to discover how to vary dynamics and add effects, fades and volume. They did not work very well with the preliminary task however the experience of manipulating the sounds in ‘garageband’ and using them as sound bridges and scores.
The use of shot reverse shot in the dialogue scene worked well despite the audio being dormant illustrating our first attempts of using the software well. The shots continuous and a variety of angles to keep the attention of the audience.
We suffered difficulties in finishing our film as our audio did not export to ‘Final Cut Pro’, thus leaving the dialogue scene incomprehensible and was salvaged by subtitles. This was not a disadvantage as such as it gave us the opportunity to explore the software and experiment with the extra footage we had to create slow motion scenes.
